OC 57/2017 - The Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (Exemptions) Amendment Regulations, 2017 (Minister of Social Services)

Title: The Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (Exemptions) Amendment Regulations, 2017

Minister: Minister of Social Services

Summary: On filing date, these regulations will amend RRS S-8 Reg 11 to implement the grandfathering provisions announced in November which impacted three income assistance programs: the Saskatchewan Employment Supplement (SES); the Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (SAID); and the Saskatchewan Assistance Program (SAP). As a result of these grandfathering provisions, SAID beneficiaries who were expected to lose their income exemption for their Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) top-up, Senior’s Income Plan (SIP) payments and Saskatchewan Rental Housing Supplement (SRHS), will no longer be impacted by the amendments made on September 1, 2016, for the GIS top-up and SIP payments, or the SRHS amendments made on October 1, 2016.

In addition to these grandfathering amendments, one housekeeping amendment is proposed to correct a typing error.
