Title: Federal-Provincial Agreement - Settlement and Release Agreement for $32.9 Million (Ownership of Soldier Settlement Minerals in Saskatchewan)

Summary: Orders:

(A) Approval of the terms of an agreement between the Government of Saskatchewan and the Government of Canada to be known as the “Settlement and Release Agreement for Q.B.G. No. 1675 of 2003, Judicial Centre of Regina”, substantially in the form of the attached Schedule A;

(B) That the Minister of Energy and Resources is authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan; and

(C) That the Minister of Energy and Resources is authorized to carry out the terms of the Agreement on behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan, and for that purpose:

i) shall administer all mines and minerals transferred to the Government of Saskatchewan pursuant to the Agreement in accordance with The Crown Minerals Act, subject to the provisions of any lease, unit agreement or other arrangement pertaining to any such mines and minerals that is in effect on the date they are transferred; and
ii) may exercise all the powers and duties of the minister and the lessor under those leases, unit agreements and other arrangements, as though they had been entered into by the Minister of Energy and Resources on behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan.
