Title: The Wildlife Amendment Regulations, 2008

Minister: Minister of Environment

Summary: On filing date, these regulations will amend RRS W-13.1 Reg 1 to:

- allow operators of captive ring-necked pheasant farms the same opportunities as domestic game farms;
- permit the hunting of non-protected wildlife during open big game seasons;
- allow municipalities to remove protected wildlife within town or city limits under municipal bylaw and Executive Director approval;
- allow the shooting of muskrat by licensed trappers; - remove the requirement for a Saskatchewan Wildlife Habitat Certificate for free hunting licenses;
- relax restrictions on all-terrain vehicle use in the north eastern boreal forest and the Bronson Forest; and
- require individuals to hold a fur licence to hunt foxes.
